The GDPR provides a single, harmonised data privacy law for the EU. It aims to ensure that data protection practices are up to date and preserve EU residents’ rights regarding their personal data. The GDPR came into effect on 25 May 2018 and is now legally enforceable, meaning organisations that fail to comply could face harsh fines of up to 4% of annual turnover or €20 million – whichever is greater.
This one-day Foundation course provides a comprehensive introduction to the GDPR, and a practical understanding of the implications and legal requirements for organisations of any size. It is also a stepping stone to the GDPR Practitioner course.

"Having recently completed both the GDPR Foundation and Practitioner course with IT Governance, I cannot recommend them enough. The training delivered by Sharon was fast paced, fun, interesting and extremely informative, an excellent preparation for the exams. The instructors expertise was apparent from the first instance and provided for thought provoking discussion among our group, ensuring that we both knew and understood the complexities of the subject. If you hold data which could be subject to GDPR, these courses will provide you and your colleagues with the tools and knowledge to understand the legal requirements in place to protect the rights of your data subjects and your organisation. Excellent investment! "
- Claire, Registration Officer, PHECC
