Environment and Sustainability Policy

Scope

GRC International Group PLC and its subsidiaries (the “company”) provide specialist services and solutions for IT governance, data protection, risk management and compliance, and related topics. These services and solutions include information, advice, books, software, tools, training and consultancy. The Group provides global delivery, with most of its employees working remotely (home-based) and most operational business being conducted online.

This policy is supported by our Corporate Social Responsibility Policy (HR-PLC-009).

Responsibilities

The Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of GRC International Group is committed to reducing environmental impacts by ensuring Group activities are conducted in accordance with all relevant and current legislation.

The CEO is responsible for the implementation of this policy and will make the necessary resources available to realise our corporate and social responsibilities. The responsibility for our performance of this policy rests with all employees throughout the company.

The responsibilities for the review and approval of this policy have been identified and assigned through the company RACI matrix. Reviews includes consultation with members of the Group’s Climate Change Committee.

Statement

This policy statement has been established as a framework for identifying and reviewing selected environmental objectives. These objectives will help the company continually improve the effectiveness of the management system.

We shall be open and honest in communicating our strategies, targets, performance and governance to our stakeholders, in our continual commitment to becoming more environmentally sensitive whilst being aware of sustainable developments.

The objectives of the policy are:

  • To comply with legal obligations under the current Environmental Protection Act, together with all other applicable statutory provisions and relevant codes of practice;
  • To increase energy efficiency of lighting and heating solutions in the office;
  • To transition our product range from physical books to eBooks;
  • To promote environmental awareness throughout the organisation;
  • To encourage the use of online technology as key measures in reducing travel emissions, using digitalised tools instead of paper, and lowering office energy resources;
  • To maintain a safe and healthy working environment for employees who must use an office for their role, with adequate facilities appropriate to the nature of the business activities;
  • To minimise the social impact of the company activities and avoid damage to the environment;
  • To recycle equipment, papers and packaging wherever practical and possible; and
  • To minimise waste by evaluating operations and ensuring they are as efficient as possible.
