ISO 55000:2014 provides an overview of asset management, its principles and terminology. The ISO 55000 family of standards cover the management of physical assets.

This standard:

• Seeks to faciliate the management of physical assets through the implementation of an Asset Management System (AMS)
• Helps with staff awareness and understanding of asset management
• Covers many of the key pieces of information that are critical in order to understand risks, performance and other physical asset-related subjects
