The EU Networking and Information Security (NIS) Directive and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will both be finalised this year and enforced from 2017, yet 80% of organisations polled for a recent FireEye study revealed that they had not put the appropriate cyber security measures in place to meet the forthcoming laws’ requirements.
Failure to have appropriate measures in place to address data security could result in fines of up to €100 million in the event of a data breach.
