The GDPR introduced significant new responsibilities for all organisations that process personal data. It extends the data rights of individuals (data subjects) so that they have better control over how their personal data is processed, and requires data controllers and processors to implement and maintain “appropriate technical and organisational measures” to protect personal data.
Organisations face fines of up to €20 million or 4% of annual global turnover for breaches.
Some organisations must appoint a DPO (data protection officer) to oversee their organisation’s data protection activities. Moreover, many others voluntarily appoint someone to the role.
This four-day training course gives attendees the knowledge and operational skills to act as a DPO in the EU and ensure that GDPR compliance is achieved and maintained effectively.
This course covers the DPO role and how it fits in with other departments of the organisation.
Designed by the team that led the world’s first certified GDPR Foundation and Practitioner training course
Using practical examples and exercises, attendees will learn how to conduct the DPO role with regard to DPIAs, DSARs and other obligations.
Attendees will learn everything they need to act as a DPO within their organisation and ensure that GDPR compliance is expertly designed, implemented and maintained.
