GDPR webinar: Appointing a data protection officer (DPO) under the GDPR

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) requires that public authorities and organisations that process data on a large scale appoint a data protection officer (DPO). The role of DPO must be “independent” within the organisation, and must be appointed on the basis of professional qualifications and qualities – in particular, “expert knowledge of data protection law and practices”.

Organisations, senior management and professionals involved in GDPR compliance can learn about the circumstances in which they’re required to appoint a DPO and the role of a DPO under the GDPR in IT Governance’s next webinar.
